Save In "The Zone"

Rensselaer County and the Empire State are serious about attracting new business. Numerous forms of support may be available to you – including programs to lower taxes and provide low-cost loans. For instance, Rensselaer County is a designated "Empire Zone," where businesses can benefit from:

• Property tax abatements
• Wage tax credits
• Sales tax abatements
• Investment tax credits
• Reduced utility costs

Companies that move to, or expand in, Empire Zones are eligible for benefits. However, these companies must be certified by New York State before Empire Zone program benefits can be granted.
